storm emma

Uhh, we were lucky - 'Storm Emma', the weather forecast predicted yesterday, didn't come - at least not as strong!
We were told not to leave the house on Saturday because it might be dangerous with trees flying around and stuff. (In the end trees WERE flying - but in other parts of Germany!)
Luckily my cousin Karl lives in the same house so we met up to play. We made it through the morning, but in the afternoon it got so boring and Mila was supposed to play her alto flute at Open Day in her Music-school Bethanien. (The link shows the history of the building, which used to be a hospital - the famous writer Theodor Fontane was working in a pharmacy there in 1843 and the last pic shows the building today - lots of kids get music lessons there...)
So we braved Emma and she didn't mind, it was just windy and rainy. But we had a cool afternoon watching and listening to people playing all kinds of instruments and some showed us how to make them!
Since I know the place pretty well from Mila's music lessons I even explored rooms on my own while Dad was buying some cake at the coffeeshop. Mila did some art stuff and my Mom and Grandma sat in a concert enjoying Telemann (that's an old german composer my Mom likes...).
We had a pretty nice afternoon out, thanks to you, gentle Emma!
