We had a pretty busy day for the last one of the year 2007. Mom said, it started turbulent (with us being in the States visiting Granddad and aunt Margot and her family) and it ended exciting...
In the morning we met up with Mom's childhood friend Dörte (they were in a choir together since they were 7 years old) and her two daughters again. We stayed on the playground - but always checking the road looking out for Dad. He hitchhiked that morning from Berlin, but in the end he only got here when we got up from our three hour nap. Did he walk???
In the evening we went to see Connie and her family at her Dad's house. Lots of talking and drinking was going on, but there was always at least one person playing and reading with me, which was great...
At midnight - pretty late for me - we stood at the balcony at my grandparents house welcoming the New Year and freaking out over the fireworks - Dad was actually the worst one. He got sooo excited and yelled so loud, that Mila started crying because she thought there was a fire.
And I tell you, Mila is pretty tough!!! But it was great and we had an amazing view, since my grandparents live on a hilltop overlooking the whole city. And Germans tend to spend a lot of money on fireworks - which was brilliant to watch...
And now at last: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!
