what a night!

We (that is Mom and me) had an amazing time tonight...At the set time we went to the box office of the Cirque du Soleil (their tent is standing near Ostbahnhof, 15 minutes by bike from where we live) to pick up the tickets for Varekai. I was soo excited and at around 10 to eight Mom got kind of nervous - she was not totally sure anymore if the twins really remembered it. I mean they are busy people and Mom only talked to them a few minutes. After she gave her name at the box office, the ticket lady came back empty handed and our faces kind of dropped for a second.
Then Mom clarified that we 'know' Kevin and Andrew and that they meant to reserve the tickets for us. Then the lady went back to talk to her boss and we heard her say 'wow' and she came back with a piece of paper and a HUGE bag (it did not fit through the little window so she came to the door...). And then it got surreal. We showed our piece of paper (rather a signed invitation than a ticket) and got sent to the first row to seats right in the center. We were basically sitting in the middle of everything - the show is so amazing and funny (The clown was flirting with Mom - throwing fake arm pit-hair at her, don't ask - because we were sitting right under his nose and because it belonged to his act and I could tell she got a red face anyway, hehe...)!
During the break we went outside to look into the big Varekai-bag and found a DVD of one of the shows we don't know yet, a huge calendar and a book were ALL the other artists signed and with little notes to me.

During Andrew's and Kevin's 'aerial strap'-act we could have touched their toes because they flew all over the place... This was our favorite act and that is not only because they were so nice to us, but it was the most beautiful and amazing artistic act we ever saw live! And then, during the last applause they were blowing a kiss to me! Mom was glad that she was quick enough to mouth a big 'Thank You' to one of them... Since Mom didn't have to spend any money all night I was allowed to pick a little bracelet on a sales stand. I insisted on the yellow one saying: 'When I'm growing up I will run away and join the circus'. Mom laughed but asked to please be able to talk about it first...When we left the tent we had watery eyes and I was really sad having to say Good Bye - it hurt, like it does when you have to say it to good friends!

On the way home we cycled right through Kreuzberg on our bike and when we reached Kottbusser Tor, the soccer game Germany-Turkey was just over. Men were screaming, turkish girls crying, TV teams interviewing happy and sad people on the street: Germany won by one goal in the last minute.
What a crazy and wonderful emotional night!!!

PS: Emil and Dad stayed home, because it would have been too much for the little boy - loud noises and scary outfits really freak him out. But soon he will be big enough and then we will all go together!
